6 months....Christmas... and Updates

Well 2009 is almost gone and I still can't believe how much my life has changed in one year! Zoie turned six months and it brings a tear to my eye every time I look at her and think back to the day she was born. She gave us the best Christmas gift by attempting to crawl and she got one crawl in before plopping down on her belly, but she still did it! Today she got three more crawls in, soon enough I will be running around after her. I started my new job working full time as a teacher at a local day care/pre-k/after school program. I am loving my class, 2-3 yr olds and my co-workers but miss my baby so much while I am gone. It is the perfect job because on Tuesday and Thursday I bring Zoie with me and the rest of the week Kris has her during the day. Eventually when she is older and walking I will bring her everyday and the best part is IT WILL BE FREE! Employees at the school receive free day care so I will have her with me all day, sorta. I will also be going to school full time and take my classes before and after work on the days Kris has off, it will be a hectec schedule but if this is what I have to do to help provide for my family and give my daughter everything she needs than I am going to do it! I am concerned because Zoie hasnt fully sat up yet un suported so I will be seeking the help of a professional to help me with doing different excercises with her to strengthen her abs. I took plenty of photos and will have them up asap! We moved into the new apartment and although it is smaller it has a washer and dryer and an amazing view and is just so much better! Christmas went great, Zoie got a million new toys but the best was her walker she received from Grandma and Grandpa. It is in the shape of a Jeep and has a sterring wheel and everything, she is took cute as she scoots along turning her steering wheel. That is all for now because I have to go to sleep since I am going in early tomorrow. Pics will be up soon as well as a more detailed update on the Price clan : )

Holiday Photos!!!

Christmas Blog...

Well, I always say I am going to do a better job at posting but I never seem to follow through, SORRY! Month five for little Zoie has flown by, I cried because I donated her newborn and 0-3 clothes and everyday I look at her and realize my little angel is growing up! Zoie has been doing great her six month well check is next week. I changed her pediatrician, which is something I have been considering for a long time but finally followed through with it. I did a meet and greet with her new dr and he seems wonderful and his staff is great, something her old pediatrician was severely lacking. We had our Christmas family photos taken and they came out amazing! I will make sure to post some, if not all HA-HA. Zoie did great having her photos taken and I was really worried because when we arrived for our appointment they were running behind and I was worried that the change in time would coincide with Zoies nap time, which it did, but thank God she was a total peach! I just love my little girl : ). She was all smiles and for the first time tri-poded which I couldn't stop talking about the entire time we were there. She is developing really well and talks all day long. She recently started to say "BA-UUU" which is new because she does a lot of A's and U's but never any B's. She is finally doing great with her baby food, I finally figured out the right consistency and I think being a month older she is just ready to eat more than milk. Sadly, the breastfeeding just keeps nose diving for us which just breaks my heart. When I started work my milk production slowly started to decrease and we started supplementing with formula now and than and it's just gotten to where formula is her primary source of nutrition and I have become a pacifier vs a food source. I really wanted to breastfeed exclusively for the recommended one year, but I just don't see that as working out. I have a dr appointment next week too and plan on discussing it with my ob/gyn. I am also planning on scheduling an appointment with a lactation consultant, so we shall see! I was recently hired to teach at a pre-school so I will be attending classes and working next semester, so I don't know how often the blogs will be up once my crazy schedule starts. Kris and I are both looking forward to me going back to work full time because financially it will make things much easier around the house and relieve a lot of stress we've been feeling, especially because Kris' Honda needs to have some expensive work done on it. On a lighter note, we are moving next week! *Insert chorus from Hallelujah* I am having Auntie Sara watch Zoie Monday so I can get organized and Tuesday is the big day, and I can not wait! I will decorate for Christmas ASAP and we will get a tree up just as fast, since I have been just begging to get some decorations up in our gloomy apartment. Tomorrow I will be going with my Mom, Nina Sarah and Crazy Aunt Beth to get Grand Dad Steve in San Diego and I will be away from Zoie for two nights, I cried when I put her to bed tonight because I know I will have two days without her. I am already starting to cry as I type this, I am going to miss my little baby so much! But her and Daddy are going to have so much fun since Kris is the "fun" parent and I am the "not-fun" parent haha, I am a stickler for the rules and he brushes them under the rug. School is done next week and I am finishing up my finals and it looks like I am going to get all A's and maybe one B, but we will see. I am proud of myself for doing well in school considering it was my first semester with my Zoie and we were all nervous how I was going to handle it. Check back in with me next semester and we'll see! Hope all is well. I have Christmas cards for all, I am just waiting to get the photos back from JC Penney to mail them out. Take Care and if I don't post before Christmas, Merry Christmas to all! We love you and are blessed to have such amazing friends and family in our lives : )

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, this might be the only blog I get done before Thanksgiving so this will have to do! Not a lot is going on at the home front. We started Zoie on baby food and oatmeal. Her first baby food was peaches and unfortunately she is allergic to them, : ( , she woke up with a rash from head to toe and wasn't feeling well at all so i took her to the Dr who told me to just keep her comfortable and watch for a high fever. I felt so bad for her and it really wrecked our whole routine we had going because she was up most of the night because she just felt so terrible that she couldn't get comfortable. It really upset me because we had an amazing schedule down and I was finally able to accomplish some things around the house and now we're just trying to get her back on schedule. She is still sleeping through the night, thank the Lord! She usually goes to bed between 6:30-8:30 pm and wakes up at around 5:30-7:30 am. Before she got sick it was like clockwork she would get her bed time bath and story between 5:30-6:15 and would nurse till 6:30 and be out, now it is a little more difficult. Kris is doing well at work, still slow at his store but should be picking up around Thanksgiving, who doesn't want Cold Stone ice cream pie?? My classes are going really well and I have an appointment to meet with my U of A adviser to discuss my Spring classes. I am currently looking for a second job, I'm looking at day care centers where I can bring Zoie with me. That way I will have a week day and weekend job and the supplemental income will help a lot this coming X-mas season, I have already started picking Zoies gifts! I am SO excited!! Zoies Mommy and me classes are going GREAT. Zoie has a little boyfriend named A.J. ( adorable little boy whose twin brother Ryan also goes to the class!) just last week I caught them holding hands during tummy time, his mom and I couldn't stop laughing! There is love in the air at the My Gym facility :) I recently joined a mommy book club and I am very excited about going because it will be some good "mommy" time, I dont know how much reading I will do since I have a feeling it is going to be a lot of mommy "b!@#$" time haha. Kris and I are very happy to announce that we are going to be moving in December into a much nicer apartment, still in our area but it is a gated community with much MUCH nicer apartments, I am looking forward to decorating for x-mas. I scheduled Zoies fall pictures to be taken within the next few weeks so I will be able to send them out with our family x-mas letter. For Thanksgiving we are hoping to get both of our families together for our annual camping trip, although Kris,Zoie and I wont be staying because I am afraid it will be too cold to camp for her.I am also going to ATTEMPT( key word in the sentence) to bake a pie from scratch along with a few other dishes, I am known for burning store bought cookie dough so we shall see how the baking thing goes, haha. Zoie is talking more than ever and that has become her favorite thing to do, sit in your lap and look at you and discuss something that must be very important to her because she just goes on and on! My good friend Sara has recently started to watch Zoie so that I can run errands and clean house and this has been a gift from God, seriously! My home has turned to ruins because there are just not enough hours in the day and with work, school, and obligations cleaning just isn't in the cards at times and I am such a neat freak it DRIVES ME CRAZY! Sara is going to watch her tomorrow so I can clean and I am so excited because I dont think I can look at the mess for another day! Hopefully everyone is doing well. I am posting pics of Zoie eating her baby food and playing. I wanted to get a picture of her in her new Thanksgiving dress BUT she wasn't into the idea of having a fashion show so I had to take a picture of just the dress, oh well sometimes you win some sometimes you lose some! Take Care and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Four month well check!

Zoie had a very busy week with her monthly ultrasound and specialist appointment, four month well check, mommy's exercise class Baby Boot Camp, and her favorite My Gym class. Zoie's Dr appointments went very well. She weighs 13 lbs 5 oz and is about 25 inches long! She is very healthy and developing very well. She loves to roll over, but only from her back to her tummy. Which her pediatrician says is odd because it is more difficult for babies to roll from back to tummy, I guess she is just a little backward! She got her shots which yet again made Mommy cry more than she did! Her My Gym class is great! She loves interacting with other babies her age and we sing songs and dance with her. The Baby Boot Camp class I went to kicked my butt! But it was so worth it, loved being able to workout with my munchkin riding along with me, I was so jealous that she was lounging in her stroller! We are going to feed her some yummy rice cereal tonight for the first time so we shall see how Zoe likes her cereal! Hopefully everyone else is doing well! I am trying to be better at posting photos and updates and whatnot! Life is pretty crazy though :)

It's been too long since ive posted!

I am so sorry that it's taken me almost two months to post a new blog! Things have just been super crazy around the house! So hopefully this gets all our friends and family up to speed with what is going on with our wonderful family. I am currently loving my job and school, I work weekends and have classes wednesday night and Tuesday morning. Kris usually has Friday and Sunday off so Zoie's Grandma watches her Saturdays and she loves it! Zoie is doing amazing! It brings a tear to my eye when I see how grown up she is getting I can't beileve my little baby is going to be four months old on Saturday. She is developing wonderfully and her four month well check is on the 22nd. She see's her specialist on the 20 and gets her monthly ultrasound on the 19. Everything should be fine but I always get nervous before because you just never know about anything! She loves rolling over from her back to her tummy but doesnt love it the other way around. She is trying to crawl so that should be very exciting when she starts moving around the house on her own. She has what appears to be two teeth comming in so she hasn't been feeling very well at all! It is so sad so usually I just hold her and put a chilled teething ring in her mouth for her to suck on. I try to avoid giving her any type of medication so hopefully when the big teething symptoms arise teething rings and cuddling will do the trick, if not I might have to bend my own rule! Zoie is on a great schedule and I am so happy to announce to all that, dum dum dum, SHE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! Praise the lord my little one has bedtime and 8 and wakes up at 6!!! I try and keep to a very good routine with her and I think it's because of that that she can sleep so well. Zoie and I also just signed up for a few Mommy and Me classes, harray! We will be doing Baby Boot Camp Monday and Wednesday morning, she will attend Little Kiddo class Wednesday afternoons, and Fridays she has her Kindermusic Village class. Daddy is also going to start taking her for baby Yoga and Baby Massage, (lucky her!) Saturday. We shall see how it will go. I am also going to become a member of Tucson Moms which is a local organization that hosts events for the kids and moms in your area. Zoie, Nina Sarah and I are planning on visiting her Grandpa the weekend before Thanksgiving in San Diego so I am becoming very nervous about the drive with her. Zoie HATES her carseat, she dislikes it with a passion! So I am hoping that if I plan it right she can be asleep for most of the drive, if I am lucky! Zoie developed a nasty cold a few weeks ago and is getting over that, thank God but is still pretty sniffily. Kris and I both managed to catch the cold as well so our home has been filled with lots of kleenex and coughing. Zoie is still breastfeeding and it's great I love feeding her and im going to be sad when it's time to ween her. This month we should be able to start feeding her some baby cereal and I am so excited. Kris thinks it is hilarious that I am so excited to start feeding her cereal but I tell him that it's the little things that matter! I can't beileve our baby is getting so big. I have photos of her but I need help loading them so recent pics will be up soon, I promise! I hope everyone else is doing well!! We love you all :)

Zoie two months old!

So much has been going on it's really difficult to post new blogs as often as I would like to! So ill make this short and sweet, Zoie is doing great! She is awake the majority of the day, usually she will take a nap for maybe three hours. So that is my window of opportunity to clean, cook, study and shower! I have learned to work at super speed! She is so alert I still can't believe how much she's changed in the last two weeks. She and I lay on our bed and she watches the fan and smiles and recently she has been on a big "lets shove our hands in mommy mouth" phase, she just loves it! I love playing with her. She is eating well and growing as she should be. I started working part time at a local restaurant on the weekends and her Dad will watch her. Last week though her Grandma Harsh and Auntie Laura watched her while we were at work. I was so nervous, it was the longest I had been away from her since she was born. I couldn't wait to get back home to her! My classes started too, I have one morning class, one night class and two online. Things have been crazy for mommy! Here are a few new pictures so you can all see how our little munchkin is growing!!

2 Month Well check

Little ms. Zoie had her two month check up today and did great! She weighs 9.15 lbs, 23.5 inches long and the circumference of her head is 39 cm. She is in the 86% for her height, 33% for weight and 63% for her head. The docter said she is very strong and advanced in her physical development since she can roll over and lift herself as well as she does. Everything else is right on track for her. She got her baby shots which were not fun at all! Kris helped hold her while I sat in the corner and cried, haha. It is the worst feeling ever to hear your child in pain, and know there isnt anything you can do to fix it. We rushed her home and she's been sleeping all day, with the exception of like 30 minutes to eat. I am hoping she wont want to stay up all night and party! I am going to take Zoie next week and have her two month professional photos taken, I have been meaning to do it since she was born but something or another kept getting in the way! I am excited to finally gets some of her photos on the wall and send some to family members who havent seen how much she's grown! She is meeting with her specialist next week, along with her monthly blood work and ultrasound, originally we had scheduled to do it all today but I didnt want her to go through all that stress in one day. Kris will be there for the tests as well because it is really difficult for me to see my child poked with needles and since she can sense my apprehension, it's better to have his calm nature around us. So thats about it for now! I am wanting to have a little dinner on her two month birthday so I will post pics after we have it!

Seven weeks old... What a BIG girl she is!

Zoie is doing great! The first few weeks were a little rough on me, but seven weeks in I still can't believe she is here! Zoie has rolled from her back to her tummy three times and can hold her neck up without support, yay for her! She unfortunately has many doctor appointments because of her little tummy problem. For those who don't know Zoie has a hemange-something or another, I.E. a tumor, on her liver. When she was a day old she was transferred to UMC NICU where she had a CT and blood work done. Her specialist ruled that it was a tumor that developed while she was in my belly and it shouldn't turn into anything harmful and might just go away as she grows. However to be on the safe side she will have monthly ultrasounds and blood work, and weekly tummy checks, along with seeing her specialist once a month and her pediatrician weekly, poor baby. This is all to monitor the growth and make sure everything is A-okay. All these appointments along with the pediatrician appointments that every baby has to have is making mommy a little frazzled at keeping everything straight. She is a GREAT baby, hardly fussy, and a joy to be around. She has so many facial expressions that I can just watch her for hours! We went to San Diego to visit Grandad Steve and her Aunt Laura and we had a blast! The weather was great and although we didn't get to visit the ocean, for one reason or another, we had a great time. Zoie did really well in the car with hardly any fussing. Also her Great Aunt and Great Grandma from Kansas visited us and it was great to see the four generations of Harsh women. Now that Daddy is back to work Zoie and I have come up with a little routine and things couldn't be better. I still can't believe my little baby is almost two months it still blows my mind every time I see her to know she was inside my belly two months ago! Kris is an amazing dad and I think we make a really great team and that could be the reason why I think it's been easier than anticipated. School starts in a few weeks for me so that should be interesting to see how our little routine goes once mommy has a bunch of school work and can't play peek-a-boo all day! Our little one is measuring at 23 in long and 9 lbs 6 ounces as of last week. Our next dr appointment is Thursday so we'll see our little piggly wiggly is growing. I'll post some more pictures and let everyone know how big she is getting!
